Aux Merveilleux

Oh that’s marvellous! That is exactly what you will say when you will enjoy this unique pastry. The Merveilleux are a traditional cake from North of France and Flanders, that Frederic Vaucamps modernised and turned into a Big success. The meringues coated in whipped cream look as good as they taste.

You may choose between a mini or a normal size. I went for the mini, not because I am on a diet but because I wanted to taste the different flavours. Among the flavours, you may pick the Incroyable made of meringue, speculoos biscuit whipped cream coated with shaved white chocolate. It looks like a mountain covered with snow, marvellously smooth. The Magnifique is a meringue with praline whipped cream coated with almond chips and caramelised hazelnuts. It will crunch under your teeth before melting in your mouth. Coffee lovers can enjoy the Impensable with coffee whipped cream coated with crystallised coffee meringue that will take you to another world. The Sans-Culotte and its orignal name is a meringue with caramel whipped cream coated with crystallised meringue. The Eccentric is dressed in pink and is made of cherry whipped cream. One could almost imagine a beautiful princess skirt.
Finally, the Merveilleux is THE cake with chocolate whipped cream coated with shavings of dark chocolate; it is the first born of the pastry shop and the one that made its success.

Comfortably seated in the tea room, you may enjoy these little sweets while contemplating how they are made.
Those little wonders are available in mini, individual or shared cake sizes.
