There are still Good People (i.e. Des Gens Bien) in Geneva! Last month, I went to the Flealess Market and discovered a stand filled with fun and design objects made by a bunch of committed artists and designers, united under one name: Good People. The Good People of Geneva convey their taste for beautiful things to both young and Big customers.
The wonders of Des Gens Bien come from everywhere in the world and have one thing in common: quality. A philosophy and a lifestyle that can be found through an exclusive selection of puzzles, chess boards or even darts, checkers or terracotta backgammon… Each product is made in a small edition with pretty materials which is rare enough – notice that I wish to emphasise this fact. For example, you may find small beech wooden cars hand-made by a Breton artisan in a limited and numbered edition. In terms of local know-how, the beach racquets and tangrams are 100% made in (My Big) Geneva. My heart goes to Hanno The Gorilla with his big muscles, masculine behaviour and expressive face… Hanno The Gorilla is quite discrete and now sits on the coffee table of my living room. DGB also offers a sharp selection of boho books and indie magazines (including the quirky and awesome Toiletpaper) as well as a few vinyls … And some pochette-surprises to offer to the children of Pierre, Paul, Jacques during your next end of year dinner. Timeless design with a touch of craziness … Good People enjoy whatever is handmade, noble materials and the pleasure of offering beautiful gifts.
