Sense & Sensuality

We were told by the artistic director of the Geneva International Film Festival Tous Ecrans that the 2016 edition will be a sensual and emotional event. Turns out he was telling the truth. Among all the events scheduled this year, we picked two experiments to rouse your sensory powers. Will you dare try them?

The Machine to be Another
BeAnotherLab is an international interdisciplinary art collective formed in 2012 that investigates, reproduces and communicates individual subjective experiences to create bonding and empathy between people. BeAnotherLab’s work questions and subverts hierarchies between different ways of knowing, namely art, science and technology. One of its project is worldwide known as: The Machine to be Another. In short, I am you, you are me: a virtual reality experience which allows you to see yourself from the eyes of another person. Literally. And let us ask you a question: do you see the world differently now that you have another body? Answer it by trying it.
Online reservation only (free of charge), 10min, experiment for 2 people

Master of 3D Sex
Every year, the Geneva International Film Festival Tous Ecrans schedules a retrospective of a cinema figure. This year, it’s technology: 3D technology. Discover a few avant-garde and contemporary master pieces in three dimensions.
Way before the series Master of Sex, in 1977, another scientist wanted to learn everything there is to know about sex. This other scientist is the leading character of Dan Symmes’ short movie called Experiments in Love who invents a machine which is capable of enhancing sexual pleasure… in 3D. This short movie is preceded by Claude Barras’ Room 69 screening. What a program huh?
Wednesday, November 11th @ 11.30pm at the Cinerama Empire (16.-, book online).
Tons of other 3D movies are scheduled such as The Mask by Julian Roffman, Hara-Kiri by Takashi Miike, Dial M For Murder by Hitchcock, etc.
