The Poussière du Monde Festival (i.e. the Dust of the World Festival) is an opportunity to escape for about 20 days and that opportunity is just a few tram stops away from the center of Geneva.
The festival offers children’s shows, world music concerts, dancing, singing, a yoga class, a master-class percussion; the choice is quite Big.
But let’s go back in time and find ourselves in 1973, way before the first edition of the festival that took place in 2004. The Pannalal’s Puppets show (which was named after the Indian master) is a pop-up theatre that travels the world, founded by Tina and Michel Perret-Gentil. This adventure lasted for 30 years before the Pannalal association was born and in 2001, the first show “The Mystery of Christmas” was presented in front of the Ethnographic Museum of Geneva. It took place under a yurt. The event was a Big success; the intimate setting allowed the artists to communicate with the audience and they all wanted to renew this experience. So the Poussière du Monde festival was founded.
Since then, it has grown, two large yurts were built to welcome the guests and artists came from Bulgaria, India, the Maghreb or the Middle East, Anatolia, Argentina, France or Iran …
This new edition will make you travel the World; you’ll be able to daydream and feel the magic.
Let your imagination go, hop up on the tram and head to the Parc Bernasconi, enter the yurt, close your eyes and let yourself be carried away!
