A night @ the Museum

Your attention please! People of Geneva, we’re about to celebrate many many birthdays on the weekend of May the 20th in Geneva. Come and join us!
For this 5th Night of the Geneva Museums, 30 institutes will open their doors for you: the Museum of Malagnou celebrates its 50th anniversary while the Botanical Garden becomes bicentennial (did you know that the Botanical Garden was actually born in the Parc des Bastions?). The Geneva Photography Center will blow 10 candle on its birthday cake, the Barbier-Mueller Museum 40 candles, the Wall of Reformers 100 candles, the Reformation 500 candles and finally the Ariana Museum reminds us of the bicentenary of its founder.
There will be lots of cakes to taste, for those who are greedy for culture!

Where to go first? As Voltaire taught us, we must first cultivate our garden so let’s head to the Botanical Garden on Saturday, May 20th from 1pm to midnight (2pm to 5pm on Sunday 21st): you’ll be able to enjoy guided tours (and flowery tours since it’s Spring time), live music and a tribute to Augustin-Pyramus de Candolle, founder and first director of the Botanical Garden.
The Art and History Museum has scheduled a speed dating, should you wish to meet your better half. Balloons will fly in the sky at the Bodmer Foundation while the Museum of Carouge invites you for a dance followed by delicious pastries.
We all know what you’re thinking: that museums are full of dust but let us reassure you, this is not the case in our city. Culture is written with a Big C in Geneva and our advice to you is to push the door open and let yourself go…
