Green Gorilla Café

Green Gorilla Café

A green gorilla has settle on rue de la Confederation at the Bel-Air stop. Have you seen him? If not, go check him out! He will propose smoothies, fruit juices and healthy meals throughout the day. The Green Gorilla is none other than the latest healthy spot in Geneva. It opened its doors in June 2017 and everyone is talking about it. Why, you ask? Because the food is healthy and “superfoods” are really quite trendy these days.
But what is this word “superfood” that these healthy foodies are talking about? These supposedly have superior nutritional value to others. So, veggies like beetroot, arugula, spinach, avocado or fruits such as cranberry, blueberry, acai berry, pomegranate, and blackcurrant are superfoods. Seeds such as chia, carob, hemp or algae (spirulina, baobab) and certain plants (green tea) are also considered as such. These foods are therefore used in various recipes (salads, dishes, smoothies, juices) in order to create wellness products. The Green Gorilla Café is thus the new go-to place for that. In the morning, you can start your day with a good fresh fruit juice. Choose the Bodyguard is you want to boost your immune system. To loose weight, try the Instamodel. For glowing skin and improved memory, you need the Pretty Einstein. If you have time for breakfast, take the Acai Bowl or the Homemade Granola, sit on one of their chairs or in the corner of the window and observe the morning bustle. No time? No problem! Everything is available for to-go. Order your detox juice and granola and savour them at your desk.
At midday, some cold dishes are on the menu, such as Miam Yam, a quinoa salad, the Broc’n Roll, a bulgur/chicken concoction, or Avocado Toast – the inevitable healthy dish.
For your afternoon snack, give the smoothie a go. It will be a lot healthier than nibbling on a chocolate bar. The establishment offers several smoothies like the Ixcacao made with cocoa, the Coco Monkey made with banana or the Green Gorilla. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the Blueberry Love that made me cave. It was time for Geneva to wake up and offer places like this! Well done, a big success!
