The Week of Taste 2017

Switzerland is about to celebrate once again food and flavour from September 14th until the 24th.
45 restaurants throughout the canton of Geneva will offer special menus during the Week of Taste (la semaine du goût), which has become an important cultural event. The chefs will prepare different meals, using local and seasonal products and will be able to tell you the story of every products they’ve used. The cucurbit will be the guest of honour, in other words melon, pumpkin, squash, or cucumber.

Here is a selection of big events which will take place in Geneva:
The opening ceremony of the Week of Taste will take place at the Rampe de la Treille @ 6pm with food tasting, drinks and music; all the producers will attend the event and you will be able to meet with them. The feast of the Russin harvest will follow throughout the weekend. On the first Sunday, you will be able to discover a brewery, a cider house and an organic farm before trying to score on a blind taste of syrups at the Apple Festival in Meinier. Being aware of what you eat is that Ellen Kocher, hearth coach will speak to you at Takinoa on Tuesday, after work. The next day, the restaurant Le Portugais will open its kitchen to children who will discover different fresh local products. On the last Thursday, join me for a Super Apero in several places such as Mu-Food, L’Adresse, La Ritournelle as well as Un R de Famille to name only a few. Finally, René Wanner, the one of the Saconnex-d’Arve distillery will teach you how to make eaux-de-vie…
