Dance to warm up

A good way to warm up during winter is to dance; at least that is what the Antigel Festival recommends. Many dance shows are scheduled during the festival however, here are my two favourite ones, both made in Belgium.

Whooshing Machine is a strange universe. It can be a pretty dark one but also funny, open-minded and often builds a strong relationship with the spectators. The Magnificent 4 show is currently touring around the world: it first started in Brussels before heading to Hong-Kong. On Saturday, February 6th, the show will be held in the municipality of Chêne-Bourg. Get ready to clap your hands!

The second dance show I am really looking forward to is Nothing that is Everything from the Zita Swoon Group / Cie Wolvin which pays a tribute to the Voltaire Cabaret where Dadaism was born. For the record, the cabaret opened in 1916 in Zurich and was forced to shut down after 6 months due to the many complains received regarding the noise and moral rumpus. Some things will never change I guess, the story keeps repeating itself as Geneva’s night venues encounter the same issues 100 years later.
