Head to the lively rue Dancet at the tip of the plaine de Plainpalais to enjoy the best Belgian Fries in Geneva at Belga.
If Belga is a Belgium street food joint, the potatoes are Swiss and cooked according to the traditional recipe. And here’s the trick: the potatoes are fried twice. The first fry cooks them through and makes them tender. The second time fry turns them golden brown and deliciously crisp.
Nicolas and Julien, the owners, created a lovely place where the service is fast and very attentive. Count 5.- for a Mini portion (150g of Belgian Fries) and 7.- for a Normal portion (250g of Belgian fries). You can then pick among 10 different sauces: from ketchup to mayo through Brazil or American dipping.
Other traditional snacks are also available such as the Frikandel, which is a sort of minced-meat hot dog or cheese (Swiss cheese) croquettes.
Obviously, you can also enjoy a Belgium beer with your snack.
Avoid the rush hours 🙂
