Top 5 vegan friendly places in Geneva

The increasing number of vegan places in a city can be a good indicator of its dynamism. Geneva is international, advanced on quite a few topics, but sometimes left behind on others. That is why we wanted to understand what are the different vegan friendly spots in the city and share with you our top 5.

Ou bien encore: simply one of the best vegan places we’ve been to in Geneva. Home-made dishes, juices to die for and you will want more of their one of a kind cheese cake. The atmosphere makes you feel comfortable, warm and friendly. The staff wants you to feel at ease and knows every single ingredient that is served to you. Rue des Bains 61, 1205 Geneva. Deli and gallery: Mon-Wed 8am-7pm, Thur 8am-9pm, Fri 8am-7.30pm, Sat-Sun 10am-6pm. Gallery only: Mon-Fri 7-10pm, Sun 10am-6pm. +41225567677

Mapo: this restaurant offering delicious options for vegans deserves it success. It’s also worth getting out of Geneva and head to Chêne Bourg to get there. No need to ask what is vegan and what is not, everything is clearly explained. The vegan dishes are much more than a pale alternative to non-vegan meals. We are talking about delicious recipes, creative, well thought and made of local products. The menu changes regularly, so don’t hesitate to go back (often if possible). Rue de Genève 40, 1225 Chêne-Bourg. Mon 12-2pm; Tue-Fri 12-2pm, 6.30pm-10pm; sam 6.30pm-10pm. +41223490560

La crèmerie végane: the name of this “cheese place” is pretty straight forward. It literally means “vegan creamery”, so you can go there with your eyes closed. We have even discovered a cream cheese, made of cashew nuts, garlic and herbs simply to die for. You can have if for apéritif for instance and some even say it’s better than real cheese. I’m one of them. Rue de la Ferme 9, 1205, Geneva. Tue-Fri 11am-7pm, Sat 11am-6pm. +41228001884

Qibi: this place ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to delicious casual food. The different options are very clear, you know what is vegan and what is not. The friendly staff has a real nutritional expertise and will be able to give you tips and advice if needed. The menu is actually created by a former starred chef, so no need to say that it’s yummy and a lot of thought goes behind what is offered there. Rue de la Mairie 2, 1207 Geneva. Mon-Fri 11.30am-2.30pm, 6-10pm. +41227004412. Rue Kléberg 12, 1201 Geneva. Mon-Fri 11.30am-2.30pm. +41227327424

Bao Canteen: opened less than a year ago, this restaurant gets better with time and improved its menu. Choose the delicious Super Tiger and your taste buds will ask for more, vegan option included. We enjoyed eating their delicious bao, followed by a ramen soup that contains just the right amount of spices. The only downside? No vegan option for desert. Rue du Conseil-Général 11, 1205 Geneva. Mon-Sat 11.30am-9.30pm. +41223122424

Please note that our ambition is not to list out all the vegan places that exist in the city, only to share with you our own selection of vegan friendly spots we particularly liked. This being said, there’s another one that should be part of this list, but it already has its own dedicated article right here.. Be Kind Café.
