The Devil Has No Helmet

The devil has not helmet is the title of the very first Swiss exhibition by the Australian artist Shaun Gladwell, which will take place at the Analix art gallery from September 1st until November the 2nd. Born in 1972, the contemporary artist truly represents our generation. He explores via videos and performances the relationship between the surroundings and the human being. He’s fond of extreme sports, street dance, skateboarding, surfing driven by the art of performance. The state where you feel like you’re levitating when you’re physically controlling your body. So he slows down the motion in a romantic approach to master time.

The exhibition will present Saun Gladwell’s Skateboarders vs Minimalism video commissioned for the 40th anniversary of the Sydney festival this year. Pictures, drawings and objects are also part of this exhibition. The common element? The helmet… which protects, which binds metaphorically the mind and the body. In “The Devil has no Helmet”, the helmet in one hell of a state.

If you own a skateboard, take it with you.
