While all the Geneva crowd went off the mountains, Ms Big decided to spend the weekend in a prison. Het Arresthuis is located in Roermond in Nederland; built in 1862, it served as a jail up until 2007. It was then renovated into…. a boutique hotel!
The designers have retained many of its original elements, allowing guests to stay in rooms that are reminiscent of cells.
Standing behind these jail like doors are sprawling fully equipped rooms. These updates have been paired with the usual upscale hotel essentials, seen in the saunas and fitness center. Specialty suites can also be stayed in by occupants, all of which have been accorded with quirky themed names. Nights slept in The Jailer, The Lawyer, The Judge and The Director will certainly make for a memorable trip.
From 120€ because nowadays, you do need to pay to stay in a prison.
