L’obscurité a changé de texture

Completed in 2023, Rebecca Bowring’s photographic series is featured on the website of the Iconography Center. Focused on the theme of “resistances,” it delves into “the subtle and powerful forces that shape our daily lives.”

Through her work, Rebecca Bowring questions the paradoxical and material nature of photography, emphasizing its role in our individual and collective memories. A graduate of the École de photographie de Vevey and the Haute école d’art et de design in Geneva, she resides and works in the city of Calvin, where she pursues her projects. She expresses concern about the proliferation of contemporary images and their uncertain fate for future generations. Her aim is to shed light on often overlooked narratives, thus highlighting a form of resistance.
