Open only once a week on Thursday evenings, Le Traquenard is probably the most hidden afterwork venue in the countryside of Geneva. The charming wooden yurt is located in the town of Bernex, surrounded by sheep and hidden behind a ranch. The yurt turns into a singular bar for a very happy (and authentic) hour. You can come for a little while or stay until very late. Dress casually or come straight after work with your suit.
Prices are very sweet and the atmosphere is always very pleasant. You may enjoy the wines from the family winery of Sézenove, owned by the Bocquet-Thonney family. Fanny, the warm-hearted person behind this project, is here to guide your choice.
May I strongly advise you NOT to leave without tasting the pinot gris or the “fruit défendu”, name given to a delicate assemblage of gamaret and garanoir. It’s such a well-built wine and the name is a reference to the bible.
The setting is idyllic with a stunning view of the Bernese vineyard. Such an authentic venue.
PS: the Facebook page is very helpful to keep you informed of the opening hours…
