Plug

One cult objects + 10 artists = a rock & roll art exhibition. Any Prince, Johnny Ramone, Carlos Santana, Kirk Hammett, Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton among the people of Geneva? Join me from the 2nd to the 28th of March at the art gallery Calamart for PLUG.
Each of the 8 artists has customised an electric guitar with their art. Mixed media for the Soundtrack of Jérôme Blanc, a Glam’ painting on a Gibson SG Standard by Paul Kohler, an acrylic technique for the LuLúxpo’s Fender Telecaster, each work of art is unique and shows a vision.
The guitar has often been a source of inspiration for artists:  I am thinking of Picasso and his “pequena guitarra” which he painted towards the end of his life for his daughter Paloma. Or the graffiti artist John Matos, aka Crash who customised Eric Clapton’s Stratocaster Fender which he used during his 2001 tour, among so many other examples. Next to these prestigious artists, Katarina Boselli, Paul Kohler, Marta Blanc, Tanguy Bertocchi, Nicolas Noverraz, Jérôme Blanc, LuLúxpo, Arnaud Lambert et Vincent Richeux perpetuate the tradition: turn a music instrument into a work of art. Smells like Teen Spirit to me….
