Welcome to Julien’s canteen, aka as Le Mekong which belongs to a Vietnamese family. Today’s special costs 16.- (you may choose from 3 different starters and 8 different main dishes). On the menu, the starters cost between 6.- to 8.- and they all smell of Asia: shrimp fritters, dim-sum, chicken kebab, spring or summer rolls, etc. Let’s head for the main dish: Le Mekong offers a wide variety of vietnamese soups (fish, meat or veggie). They also serve a Vietnamese fondue (with Satay spices and coconut milk). The Peking duck will be worth your time, as well as the different noodles and vermicelli.
Roughly ten tables are available decorated with taste and simplicity; the service is fast and smiley. All the ingredients are there for a friendly canteen.
Do not leave the restaurant without tasting the deserts: the banana flambé with coconut milk or the rice cakes are to die for. And make sure you also order the home-made ice tea.
