Apparently his fans were like: “hey we miss you playing the piano”, so he took the decision to reassemble the acoustic trio with Vincente Archer the bassist and Damion Reid the drummer. And what better place than the Capitol Studios to do so.
Born in Houston (Texas), Robert Glasper’ mother was a blues and jazz singer. He grew up listening to Earth Wind & Fire. Once he was a grown-up, the highly decorated pianist has been fusing the gaps between jazz and R&B with Lupe Fiasco, Kayne West, Erikah Badu, Yaasin Bey (ex Mos Def), etc.
To cut the story short, it’s one of “My Favourite Thing” of the moment, don’t miss the chance to see him on stage “experimenting”…
